Royal Sources Say Charles and Harry Haven't Spoken Since Their "Awkward" Secret Meeting

Before heading to the Netherlands for the Invictus Games, Prince Harry made a quick trip to England to spend time with his grandmother the Queen. And apparently he also had a secret meeting with his dad, Prince Charles, which only lasted 15 minutes. According to royal sources who spoke to The Mirror, the encounter between Harry and Charles was “cordial but slightly awkward,” and they haven’t spoken to each other since.

And it sounds like Charles isn’t thrilled with Harry’s interview on Today, where he told Hoda Kotb re: the Queen, “I’m just making sure that she’s, you know, protected and got the right people around her.” He also (controversially, so it seems) mused “we talk about things that she can’t talk about with anybody else.”

Apparently, Prince Charles has been “at a loss” since hearing the interview. Which…kay!

Meanwhile, a source tells The Mirror, “Harry loved seeing his grandmother again and he is acutely aware of her advancing years. He is desperate for Lili to meet her great-grandmother and for Archie to see her again now he is likely to enjoy and remember the event.”

Harry was asked directly if he planned to attend the event, and said “I don’t know yet. There’s lots of things: security issues and everything else. So this is what I’m trying to do, trying to make it possible that, you know, I can get my kids to meet her.”
