Ruby Wax tour: Comedian, 66, suffers ‘severe’ injuries after ‘serious accident on holiday’
Ruby Wax, 66, is said to be “disappointed” after being forced to cancel her show at the Edinburgh Fringe 2019 after damaging her back during a holiday.
According to The Herald, representatives Chambers Touring said: “Following a serious accident on holiday Ruby has suffered severe injuries to her back and is unable to perform in Edinburgh.
“Under doctor’s orders, she is taking time out to recover, but will get the show on the road again as soon as she can.
“Ruby is incredibly sorry that she will not be able to perform the run which she had been so looking forward to.”
Ruby has also spoken out about her injury, adding: “I’ve been coming to Edinburgh Fringe with my shows for over 30 years and always had the most amazing time.
“I am hugely disappointed and so sorry to everyone who has bought tickets.
“My injuries are quite serious and I do need to take the time to heal and recover.”
Ruby was due to stage her show Ruby Wax: How To Be Human between August 18 to 24.
The website has said refunds will be available and ticket holders will be contacted shortly.
Details of Ruby’s accident are currently unknown, however the star has been enjoying her holidays and posed alongside a horse earlier today
The comedian took to Twitter to share a picture of her wearing a riding helmet while kissing a horse.
In view of her 142,000 followers, she wrote: “How has your week been?
“Have you used mindfulness successfully – tell us about a moment or exercise that particularly resonated. Let’s learn together.”
Ruby is scheduled to take her How to Be Human tour across the UK from September.
The comedian is due to kick off her shows from 4 September in Playhouse, Norwich.
