Sav reveals combined Liverpool-Spurs XI side – with one or two surprises

Everyone loves an argument about who would get in a combined XI before a big game, so here’s my hybrid Tottenham / Liverpool side.

Both sides have started well, with Liverpool top of the league but Spurs suffering a little blip against Watford last time around.

There’s six Liverpool players and five from Spurs, although there’s a few talking points as Moussa Dembele makes it in – but James Milner doesn’t.

It’s a 4-3-3 formation, and it’s just a bit of fun…

Brazilian became the world’s most expensive keeper, for a few weeks at least. Looks accomplished.

Kieran Trippier

Right-back’s England displays during the World Cup were great. Brilliant set play delivery too.

Virgl Van Dijk

Was deemed a lot of money when he switched from Southampton – doesn’t seem that much now

Toby Alderweireld

Had his problems with Spurs last season but the Belgian is a class act in the Premier League.

Andy Robertson

The Scot just keeps getting better and better at left-back. A real steal from Hull City.

Naby Keita

Only joined from RB Leipzig in the summer, but looks like he’s been in the Reds engine room all his life.

Christian Eriksen

A class act. with the ball, but he’s one of the hardest running players in the Premier League without it.

Moussa Dembele

May be finding it harder to get into the Spurs side but his quality with the ball can’t be denied.

Mohammed Salah

After a stellar first season with the Anfield side many are wondering if he can get close to it this term.

Harry Kane

Not had a great start to the season but you know he’s going to burst into life at some point.

Sadio Mane

Has started well. His pace and finishing are a major reason why Liverpool are top of the league
