SNL rip Kanye West to shreds as they joke his tweets are killing people
Kanye West ‘s tweets have caused a lot of controversy lately – so it’s no wonder the whole situation has been parodied.
US TV show Saturday Night Live ripped the rapper to shreds in a hilarious sketch they dubbed A Kanye Place.
It’s a parody of horror movie A Quiet Place, starring Emily Blunt, in which humans are being relentlessly hunted by a race of blind monsters who track people down by sound.
Make a noise, and they’ll kill you.
It’s pretty terrifying stuff – and SNL has recreated the movie in a three-minute video that sees the character’s lives endangered because they can’t help but react to Kanye’s tweets about Donald Trump and his new music.
The sketch – starring Donald Glover, Cecily Strong, Kenan Thompson, Beck Bennett and Aidy Bryant – sees them walking through a corn field, terrified as they whisper to each other: "Don’t let the monsters hear us, we have to be quiet."
But it all starts going wrong when one of the guys opens Twitter on his phone.
As his eyes widen with shock, he says: "You guys. Kanye just tweeted."
"He said he would have voted for Trump," he adds as the others shush him.
A concerned friend jumps in, saying: "Guys, don’t talk unless absolutely neccesary. The monsters can’t see us but they can hear us.
"And if we’re too loud we’ll all be killed."
Dramatic music pays as the Twitter fan sees another post from Kanye.
"Kanye has the hat and everything," he tells his friends.
"Trump signed it. He signed the hat, y’all."
"Then queue it up b***h," she demands.
They hear Kanye’s scatting on Lift Yourself, and she can’t get over him saying "poopety scoop".
She screams out and is taken by a monster.
Then just like they do in a movie, string lights turn red to signal an emergency.
"Oh no, it’s an emergency," one guy says.
And the other tells him: "I know. Kanye was just on TMZ and he said slavery was a choice."
In the end, only one man survives, but he’s taken by the monsters after having to listen to Lift Yourself just one more time.
Despite the sketch ripping Kanye to shreds, it seems he’s a big fan of it.
He even shared a link on Twitter alongside a string of crying with laughter and fire emojis.
"Self aware Kanye is the best Kanye," one of his fans replied.
While another said: "The fact that Kanye found this funny too has me in tears."
