The Isley Brothers Pay Emotional Tribute To Aretha Franklin

The Isley Brothers turned emotional when they paid musical tribute to late music legend Aretha Franklin on Sunday.

During a tearful prelude to “Jesus Loves Me,” Ronald Isley recalled his first meeting with Franklin in 1959.

Franklin was the best singer he ever heard in his life, according to Isley.

Ronald, who sang at Franklin’s funeral, said she was his best friend in show business from that day in 1959 all the way up to 2018.

He told the crowd at the Motor City Casino Hotel’s Sound Board how he and Franklin used to stay up all night and talk about Sam Cooke.

The Isley Brothers dedicated “Jesus Loves Me” to Franklin and Whitney Houston and “For the Love of You” to Franklin.
