The Pussycat Dolls’ Melody Thornton leaves Nicole Scherzinger FUMING in VERY awkward viral throwback clip… after opting out of the group’s hotly-anticipated reunion

The Pussycat Dolls made headline across the world as they reunited for an incredibly raunchy performance during the X Factor: Celebrity final on Saturday.

And after leaving fans disappointed with her absence from the reunion, old video footage has re-emerged of Melody Thornton appearing to leave the group’s lead vocalist Nicole Scherzinger furious with her ad-libs. 

Performing at the American Music Awards in 2006, Nicole is seen taking the lead while the others dance behind her, before Melody suddenly takes centre stage to showcase her vocal prowess – much to the annoyance of Nicole.

Nicole’s supposed fury didn’t go unnoticed, with one fan, sharing on Twitter recently: ‘In honour of the Pussycat Dolls reunion, a moment for the time Melody Thornton went rogue doing ad-libs and Nicole Scherzinger was visibly raging’

Other comments on social media included: ‘To be backstage after this performance would have been so epic

‘Nicole deserved it! She literally locked Melody in the closet so she would not perform, but the good sis escaped and came to steal the show at the last minute. Nicole was mad she escaped.

‘Nicole was giving her that “stay in your lane” look’ and ‘Sis really stretched them Adlibs as long as she could.’

Melody is currently rehearsing for her stint as Cinderella in the Christmas pantomime on Sunday afternoon.

Starring as the titular character, Melody will hit the road with the likes of EastEnders star Samantha Womack as The Wicked Stepmother and broadcaster Lesley Garrett as The Fairy Godmother from Saturday until January 5 at the New Wimbledon Theatre.

The singer was the youngest member of the Pussycat Dolls, which feature Nicole, 41, Ashley Roberts, 38, Kimberly Wyatt, 37, Carmit Bachar, 45, and Jessica Sutta, 37, and announced her departure in 2010 after a seven-year stint.

And marking their reunion with a bang, the band delivered a raunchy performance on ITV’s X Factor, with Ofcom receiving a whopping 419 complaints about the set.

The group shocked fans as they took to the stage at the A-star competition series in racy ensembles.

Earlier this year, Melody took a swipe at Nicole as she admitted she struggled to find her voice in the group.

During an appearance on Lorraine in February, the belter explained: ‘The issue for me stemmed… she’s [Nicole] got this Christina Aguilera style ability and I thought my dreams were going to happen. Then the gears shifted hard.

‘Nicole had been in two groups prior and she had all of this experience recording albums and so they said, “We’re going to have Nicole do all of the recording, you’re going to have to learn and you’re going to have dance with the rest of the girls”.

‘I wasn’t using my best asset… and people were getting to know me for something I didn’t do and I was the weakest dancer. It was just really challenging, it was tough. But we did have fun, but that’s your introduction into the adult world.’

In her solo career, Melody has collaborated with hit artists such as Cee Lo Green, Lil Wayne and LL Cool J.

More recently, the media personality participated in ITV’s Dancing On Ice, where she finished in fifth place with Alexander Demetriou.
