The Strokes To Play Halloween Episode Of ‘SNL’
The Strokes will be appearing as the Halloween musical guest on “Saturday Night Live,” to be hosted by John Mulaney on October 31.
NBC made this announcement during the Adele-hosted show Octpber 24. Mulaney will be hosting the show for the fourth time. The upcoming SNL episode will be the fourth appearance as musical guests for The Strokes as well.
“Three things define New York City: SNL, the Strokes, and Ed Koch. Koch is dead, so they got me,” tweeted Mulaney. “I am so goddamn excited. 4th time up. Wow and wow and wow.”
Sharing the announcement on social media, the Strokes posted SNL’s image of the date, host and musical guest but did not write any caption. The Strokes last appeared on the show on March 5, 2011.
The group released their sixth studio album The New Abnormal in April. The record was their first full-length in seven years, following 2013’s Comedown Machine. In 2016, the band released Future Present Past EP.
