Sarah Jessica Parker, 56, has said that she does not want Kim Cattrall, 65, to return to the Sex and the City spin off. The pair have gone through a very public feud that exploded in 2018, leading Kim to shut down any chance she would ever reprise her role as Samantha Jones.
Samantha’s not gone.

Throughout the spin off series, And Just Like That, Samantha has been texting Carrie, after the pair’s characters ‘fell out’, leading Samantha to move to London.
Carrie told all in the first episode, with more texts between the pair exposed in the final.
In the series finale, Carrie pulls her phone out and texts Samantha about her disappointing kiss with Peter and meeting for a cocktail in Paris.
Samantha responded immediately: “How about tomorrow night?”
However, as many fans of the show know, the likelihood of Samantha’s return is very slim.
Sarah has broken her silence on what she thinks about the possibility of her nemesis’ return to the show.
Speaking to Variety, Sarah said: “We didn’t go to Kim for this, you know.
“After we didn’t do the movie and the studio couldn’t meet what she wanted to do, we have to hear her and listen to her and what was important to her.
“It didn’t fit into what was important or needed for us.”
Sarah tried to justify how good the show had done Samantha’s character despite writing her off the show.
She continued: “There’s a very distinct line between Samantha and Kim.
“Samantha’s not gone. Samantha’s present, and I think was handled with such respect and elegance. She wasn’t villainized. (sic)
“She was a human being who had feelings about a relationship, so I think we found a way to address it which was necessary and important for people that loved her.”
Similarly, creator Michael Patrick King said he had “no realistic expectation” of Kim reprising her role.
He added: “No. Just like there was no thought that Kim would ever participate in And Just Like That, because she’s said what she had said.
“The only place I participate in magical thinking is in fiction. You take people at their word.”
After years of rumours of fighting on set between Kim and Sarah, the feud was exposed in 2018 when Kim unleashed a blistering attack on Sarah, calling the actress “cruel”.
The feud was exposed when Sarah offered her co-star condolences when her brother died, but Kim was not happy with this reach out.
She responded: “You are not my friend.”
Kim also shared a gossip article, which she said painted Sarah as a “mean girl” who would hide behind a “nice girl persona”.
The feud was rumoured to be about money, due to Sarah being paid more than the other stars as she was the show’s main attraction at the beginning.
Kim has previously denied reports she turned down a third instalment of the movie franchise because of her demands for more money.
Creator Michael broke his silence surrounding the drama in 2018 when he appeared on the podcast Origins.
He said: “Kristin, Cynthia, and Sarah Jessica became one group, and Kim never joined mentally.
“Kristin and Cynthia went in the light, they became those two ladies, they understood it was Sarah Jessica’s name – look at the posters.”
