TOWIE’s Joey Turner sparks concern with snaps in a plunging leopard print top after hitting back at fans’ fears about his weight

Joey Turner has shared a pair of snaps in a plunging leopard print shirt on a night out, after sparking concern among his Instagram followers over his weight.

The former TOWIE star, 20, posed in the eye-catching look for the images he posted to Instagram, after hitting back at his fans’ fears by saying ‘size zero is sexy.’

Once again Joey’s post sparked a flurry of concern from his followers, with many saying that they hope he ‘gets the help he needs.’

Posing in a bar, Joey captioned his snaps: ‘white lines, pretty baby,’ and the comments were soon flooded with Joey’s worried fans.

One posted: ‘Seriously, this is no joke, not a good influence at all, quite shocking really, get some help plz.’

A second wrote: ‘What are you doing to yourself? Your poor parents must be worried sick.’ Another added: ‘I really hope you get the help you need before it’s too late’.

A worried follower also wrote: ‘Oh no, please don’t loose anymore weight.’ 

Earlier this month Joey hit back at followers who were concerned for his wellbeing by posting a defiant snap smoking in a crop top.  

He wrote in his caption: ‘What would courtney love do?’

Joey recently hit back at critics regarding his weight, telling The Sun: ‘I weigh seven and half stone, but I don’t weigh myself. I don’t care about how much I weigh. I am skinny, I can’t help that I am skinny. I am not going to apologise to anyone.’

Joey, who at 5ft 11ins has ‘always had a long, thin frame’, reaffirmed that there was nothing to worry about, seeing as he eats what he believes is a healthy diet.

During a typical day, Joey will enjoy a bowl of Special K, a salad for lunch and sushi for dinner. When out, he drinks vodka with water. 

‘I don’t eat loads. I am not really a foodie, that’s not me being anorexic, I just don’t care to participate in gluttony,’ he remarked.

The fashion lover – who said that his friends and family are aware of his eating habits and are not worried – questioned the double standards of body positivity, rhetorically asking if it just applies for bigger people.

Of the concern sparked about his thinner frame, Joey said he did understand, but has no intention of censoring his content and instead wants to embrace his body.

‘To put it bluntly – I can’t help being skinny. I am happy, healthy and have supportive people around me,’ he concluded.

He recently said: ‘I can’t help that I am skinny. I am not going to apologise to anyone’

Last month, he was again setting tongues wagging when he controversially opted to dress up as Jesus for Halloween on Friday. 

Taking to Instagram two days before Sunday’s official festivities, the star held a crucifix and wore a red vestment across his shoulders while he was made-up with artificial blood slathered across his neck. 

Having recently sparked concern due to his slim figure, he responded to a fan in his comments section, who penned: ‘Someone help him’ – leading to a teasing Joey playing dumb and writing: ”it’s fake blood don’t worry x’.

More followers wrote: ‘This is so heartbreaking to see. My sisters literally thinner than him and she’s seriously Ill because of it. please get some help Joey…

‘We’re only saying this because we care. his is very disturbing to see. Maybe we as followers should unfollow then just maybe he might get the help he clearly needs.’ 

Joey became a firm favourite on TOWIE after joining with a wave of new cast members in 2019 however he stepped away earlier this year.  

In his statement released upon leaving the show he wrote: ‘After two and a half years of being on the show, I have decided to take a step back and create a new path for myself.

‘I started the show when I was 17 years old after being approached by producers asking if I was interested in being on TV.

‘Like any other 17-year-old would have done, I said yes and so I quit studying and started filming.

‘Even though I was basically a child when I started I have had the most fun experience and made so many amazing friends.

‘I am incredibly grateful for the entire experience and now it’s time for the next chapter.’

Joey was emotional in his final scenes aired as he told co-star Chloe Brockett he was going back into education. 

‘I’m leaving Essex,’ he said. ‘I’ve applied to Manchester Unis to study fashion design.’ 

Back in March Joey revealed he was mugged at knifepoint. 

He took to Instagram where he revealed a thug ‘drove into him’ on a motorbike and showed him a knife before threatening that he had a ‘machete’. 

Speaking on his Instagram stories, Joey described his ordeal as a ‘gross experience’ and insisted that things can be ‘replaced’. It’s been said that his phone was stolen.  

New direction: After leaving TOWIE Joey applied to university in Manchester to study fashion

Revealing his shocking experience, he wrote: ‘Just got mugged in Finsbury Park, happy Saturday.’

He then reassured his fans that he was fine as he later wrote: ‘I’m OK. Things can be replaced but it was just a gross experience.

‘He drove into me on his bike and then started threatening me, showing me a knife in his pocket and saying he had a machete.’

After receiving many messages of support from his followers, he then uploaded a selfie of himself as he said: ‘Thank you everyone for your messages.  

I’m not checking DMs right now because I have anxiety and don’t want to be on my phone. Thank you all, ily.’
