Vance Joy Launches Ukuleles For Kids Initiative
Vance Joy has launched a charitable initiative focusing on Children’s hospitals in the United States in August, which is observed as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
The Australian singer/songwriter announced the program Ukuleles for Kids in collaboration with ukulele brand Kala and MyMusicRx.
Vance Joy told Billboard that he wants to emulate the example of George Harrison by gifting instruments and music lessons to young children who are fighting terminal diseases. “My heart goes out to these kids and their families.”
Children can learn music lessons from Joy, who will teach the notes to his songs including “Riptide” and “Saturday Sun.”
Hospitals that have opted into the program will be given ukuleles and lessons.
The multi-Platinum singer has just concluded his The Nation of Two World Tour – North America in support of his latest album, Nation of Two.
