Vogue Williams breaks social media silence after flouting Tier 4 rules

Vogue Williams gives a shout out ‘to all the exhausted parents out there’ one day after she was caught flouting Tier 4 travel rules with St. Barts trip

  • Tier 4 restrictions came into force for London and the south east on December 20, the same date that Vogue was seen stepping out in the capital
  • The Foreign and Commonwealth Office advises against all but essential travel to St Martin and St. Barts
  • You can only travel abroad when you have a legally permitted reason to do so, with travel exceptions including work, education and childcare V
  • Vogue is a frequent visitor to St. Barts as her husband Spencer Matthews’ parents own the five-star hotel, Eden Rock, on the island
  • An active social media user, the star has, thus far, made no mention of her festive trip on Instagram – but has bemoaned having a ‘strange’ Christmas

Vogue Williams has broken her social media silence one day after she was caught flouting Tier 4  travel rules with a family trip to St. Barts.

The presenter, 35, shared a clip of her baby daughter Gigi, five months, to Instagram on Wednesday, hours after it was revealed she had broken lockdown restrictions advising against all but essential travel and banning travel for leisure.

Vogue captioned the video: ‘My tiny little sleep thief. Shout out to all of the exhausted parents out there.’

The clip comes as Vogue, her husband Spencer Matthews and their two children enjoy a relaxing winter break at Spencer’s family’s ritzy five-star Caribbean hotel, Eden Rock.

Vogue said during the clip, which showed a close-up of Gigi’s face: ‘Look at you. Are you always going to wake me three times? Yeah, that’s nice to know.’

The star has kept notably silent on her lockdown-flouting trip on social media.

Vogue- who lives in Battersea, London, with husband Spencer Matthews and their two children – was seen looking happy as she enjoyed a beach jog in the French Caribbean on Monday, as her flouting was revealed.

Travel abroad for leisure is banned under Tier 4 guidelines. Travel exceptions are only allowed for reasons such as work, education and childcare.

Vogue was last spotted in London hours after the capital entered into Tier 4 restrictions on Sunday, December 20.

The outing comes little over a week since Vogue lamented the new restrictions – and expressed her sadness that she would not make it home to Ireland for Christmas.

The star showcased her taut midriff in a bright orange crop-top paired with navy shorts that displayed her honed legs as she ran down the beach with a pal.

Vogue was accompanied by a shirtless pal as she got her morning exercise in, with son Theodore, two, and mother-in-law Jane Matthews watching on.

Vogue’s husband Spencer and their daughter Gigi were not seen at the beach.

What drama? She said during the clip, which showed a close-up of Gigi’s face: ‘Look at you. Are you always going to wake me three times? Yeah, that’s nice to know’

MailOnline contacted representatives for Vogue Williams for comment.

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office advises against all but essential travel to St Martin and St Barts.

All travellers over the age of 11 must undertake an obligatory test for COVID-19 within 72 hours before departure for St Martin & St Barthélemy. The traveller must show proof of a negative result before embarking.

Travellers must also provide a self -certified document stating that they have no COVID symptoms and that to their knowledge they have not been in contact with any person confirmed positive within the last 14 days.

In Tier 4, no household mixing is allowed, though one person can meet one other person outside in a public space, while all non-essential shops and businesses must close, including personal care and indoor entertainment.

Vogue shared her disappointment on Saturday evening following the UK government’s announcement that London and the South East were being plunged into strict Tier 4 restrictions from midnight.

Posting on her Instagram Stories, Vogue wrote: ‘Feeling so sad for those who can’t spend Christmas with family. Also so sad for those with businesses having to close again.’

‘I hope everyone can still enjoy themselves whatever they do. I wonder if I’ll ever get back to Ireland. I was meant to be there until yesterday but had to cancel again. Stay positive everyone,’ she wrote alongside a crying emoji.

Vogue is based in Battersea, London, with her husband Spencer Matthews, 32, and their two children Theodore, two, and Gigi, five months, with her family are still over in Ireland, where she also owns a home.

It comes amid warnings England could be plunged into ‘Tier 5’ restrictions within days after scientists were said to have advised Boris Johnson to impose tougher measures than those in November’s lockdown – with secondary schools, pubs and non-essential shops shut.

There she is: Vogue was seen stepping out in London on Sunday, December 20 – hours after the capital and the south east were plunged into Tier 4

But where was she? Vogue shared a sweet snap with her children on Christmas Eve but it is unclear what country she was in

Although it is unclear if the new measures will be called ‘Tier 5’, SAGE is thought to have warned the Prime Minister that they must be tougher than the Tier 4 restrictions currently in place.

A scientist advising the Government’s top scientists warned today that national restrictions must be imposed to prevent a ‘catastrophe’ in January and February, and said the Government should act ‘early’.

It could become clear whether Tier 4 is putting the brakes on the spread of the virus within days, because it can take up to two weeks for someone who has been infected to develop symptoms and then get a Covid-19 test. But the Christmas break may mean it takes longer for the tiers impact to become clear.

The spread of the virus is being driven by a mutant strain, scientists have said, which is thought to be at least 50 per cent more infectious than other strains.
