Angel and Dick Strawbridge are well-known for their Channel 4 series all about renovating Chateau de La Motte Husson. However, now the former has spoken about if she considers it to be “home” and how she misses England in a candid chat.

Dick and Angel have lived at their French chateau for six years.

During this time, they’ve been renovating their dream home.

Viewers of the hit series Escape to the Chateau have been able to keep up to date with their progress over the past few years.

However, despite relocating to France, Angel has admitted she still gets a “weird” feeling when she leaves the Chateau.

Speaking to Annie O’Leary and Wendy Golledge on the Sweat, Snot and Tears podcast, she shared more.

The hosts quizzed her on whether their French house feels like home to them.

Angel explained: “It is really weird because whenever we go back to England, we say, ‘We’re going home.’

“We’ve just come back from Ireland and we were, ‘Going home’ to Ireland.

“And then wherever we are, we say we’re going home to France.

“So I feel like we’re multi-homing.”

However, Angel did admit England will always hold a special place in their hearts.

“England will always be our home,” she added. “We’re British.

“But France very much feels like being home.”

Angel also shared how they absolutely do not feel isolated where they live in the French countryside.

As fans of the show will know, their beautiful home is located in Martigné-sur-Mayenne.

This is in north west France, set between Le Mans and Rennes.

Angel and Dick have been sharing their travels away from the Chateau recently as they’ve headed off on holiday.

Posting on Instagram, the family shared a look at their trip this summer.

On their official Instagram page, they penned: “This summer the Strawbridges thought they would explore a bit more of France which resulted in many ‘firsts’ together as a family.

“Like this monumental moment captured on top of the world at Aiguille du Midi.”

Earlier this week, the family shared another look at the trip with a mountain photo.

They wrote: “A summer throwback to The Strawbridge family on their mountain adventures

“Look what they spotted…an ibex! #thestrawbridgefamily #thechateau #chamonix.”
