Asda to sell new Nestle white chocolate Munchies – but for a limited time only
CHOCOLATE fans can soon get their hands on Munchies covered in white chocolate at Asda – but they'll only be available for a limited time.
Similar to milk chocolate Munchies, the treats come with a caramel and biscuit centre but have instead been covered in white chocolate.
The Munchies will be available in 94g sharing bags for £1, and will go on sale in Asda stores and online from August 13.
Nestle told The Sun there are no plans to sell them anywhere else, so you'll need to shop at the supermarket to get your hands on them.
They'll be available until at the least the end of year, but could be extended if they prove popular, Nestle said.
If you're watching over your waistline, you'll want to know that the white chocolate treats contain 491 calories per 100g.
An adult man should eat around 2,500 calories a day while it's 2,000 for a women, according to NHS guidelines.
The treats were shared by Facebook page Bag a Weekly Bargain, and we expect them to be popular judging by the comments.
One user said: "I will hunt these down," while another added: "I need to find these when they're out."
Munchies currently come in an original milk chocolate flavour, as well as chocolate fudge brownie and cookie dough.
These cost from 99p for a pack weighing between 101g and 104g in the big four supermarkets with Tesco currently offering the cheapest price.
Asda and Morrisons aren't far behind though, charging £1 for the same-sized packs.
The original flavour is the "healthiest" containing 485 calories per 100g, while the fudge brownie pack contains 536 calories, and the cookie dough flavour 537 calories in the same amount.
Cat Mews, Nestle's Munchies brand manager, said: "Munchies has been a popular brand for over 60 years, but we know that consumers love an on-trend twist to a classic too.
"Fans couldn’t wait to try Munchies chocolate fudge brownie and Munchies cookie dough when they launched last year, and we are sure that white chocolate Munchies will prove just as popular an addition to the range."
In other chocolate news, Cadbury is bringing out THREE new Dairy Milk flavours including coconut, blueberry and honeycomb.
The new flavours come as Cadbury announced it will shrink Chomp, Curly Wurly and Fudge bars to help fight child obesity.
Meanwhile, Nestle has launched Smarties buttons in milk, white and orange chocolate flavours.
