Beauty salons opening: When will beauty salons reopen? Oliver Dowden CONFIRMS date

Beauty salons have been given the green light to reopen, so it’s time to book in your wax or facial.

The sector was left out what was dubbed ‘Super Saturday’, and beauty workers were left in confusion as hairdressers freely reopened.

Oliver Dowden, Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, announced the news at tonight’s press conference.

He said: “We want to see all of our venues open as soon as it’s safe to do so and today’s announcement brings us a further step closer towards that reality.”

From Monday July 13, beauticians, tattooists, spas, tanning salons, and other close contact beauty services can reopen.

This reopening won’t come without its restrictions, though, with Mr Dowden stating that this will be subject to some restrictions on particularly high-risk services.

While the date has finally been given, these measures are reversible and depend on cases in local areas.

Beauty salons will also be able to reopen in Scotland, but not until July 22.
