How Meghan Markle is Ditching Royal Protocol and Following in Princess Diana's Footsteps When it Comes to Raising Archie
Meghan Markle is forging her own path when it comes to raising her first son, Archie Harrison. Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, welcomed their baby back in May, and so far, there are a few royal traditions they have completely ignored. Here is a look at how Markle is ditching royal protocol and following in Princess Diana’s footsteps.
Markle decides on a modern approach to parenting
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry exchanged vows in the springof 2018 and did not waste any time expanding the family. It has already beenfive months since Archie Harrison’s birth, and Markle has officially returnedto her royal duties.
While we have seen Archie Harrison on several occasions, theformer Suits star is reportedlytaking a very modern stance on how she is raising her son.
According to Express, parenting expert Zoe Bonser claims that Markle has not been asking othermembers of the royal family for parenting advice. Instead, she is leaning onherself to make the big decisions and has been seeking guidance elsewhere.
“Meghan trusts in her own decisions and makes her own waywhen it comes to motherhood, taking influence from others outside of the RoyalFamily,” Bonser shared.
Bonser added that Markle ditched royal traditions since the day she gave birth to Archie. The Duchess of Sussex, for example, did not take a photo on the steps of the hospital, something that has become a tradition for Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Meghan Markle also decided to buy a modern stroller forArchie Harrison instead of using the Silver Cross design typically reserved forthe royal family.
While Markle and Prince Harry are forging their path when itcomes to parenting, they are also taking a page out his late mother’s playbook.
Princess Diana is Meghan Markle’s inspiration
Apart from ditching some traditions of the royal family, MeghanMarkle and Prince Harry are getting some of their inspiration from PrincessDiana.
This includes how the couple has been keeping their son’s life as private as possible, something Princess Diana valued when raising her two boys. For Markle and Prince Harry, giving Archie Harrison as normal a life as possible is very important.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are also very hands-on when it comes to raising Archie Harrison and are never afraid to step in and provide some much needed nurturing.
While Markle is taking a modern approach to raising her son,Middleton has gone for a much more traditional style. But that does not meanMiddleton has been following every rule in the book.
In fact, the Duchess of Cambridge has broken a few royalprotocols of her own. This includes sending her oldest son, Prince George, to amixed school. She also actively drops off her children to school and has provento be a very hands-on parent as well.
There may be distinct differences in how they parent their children, but Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle share some similar traits after all.
Archie Harrison enjoys South Africa tour
For over a week, Markle and Prince Harry have been enjoyinga lively tour of South Africa. The trip is Markle’s first major undertakingsince giving birth and it is also the family’s first outing with their littleone.
To help Archie Harrison settle in on the tour, Markle andHarry brought with them a load of toys and other comforts from home. Their goalwas to make their son feel like he never left the house, and it sounds likethey accomplished their mission.
Given his age, Archie Harrison spent most of his time awayfrom the spotlight. He did, however, make an appearance to meet Archbishop DesmondTutu and seemed like he had a blast doing it.
Photos from the public appearance were shared on social media and we have to say that Archie Harrison looked absolutely adorable during the outing. We also learned that Meghan Markle likes to call her son, Arch, which is about as cute as it gets.
Prince Harry and Markle, meanwhile, returned home from theirSouth Africa tour late last week. The two appeared in a number of differentcountries in the region, including Malawi, Angola, and Botswana.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, who are now at home restingup, have not commented on the latest rumors surrounding their parenting choicesfor Archie.
