I am openly gay but sometimes want a romantic relationship with a woman
DEAR DEIDRE: MY friends are all settled with partners, but I am 24 and still confused about my sexuality.
I act straight and people are surprised when they find out I’m gay. Even my close mates can never get their heads around the fact I am attracted to men.

But while I enjoy having sex with guys, I’m conflicted.
There are times when I’m in bed with a man and think, “This isn’t really for me.”
When I think about getting into a romantic relationship, I want a girlfriend, although I worry I am not into women enough.
I’ve always been confused and thought it would become clearer as I got older. But I still feel as torn as I ever did.
DEIDRE SAYS: Being bisexual can mean that when you are with someone of one gender, you feel you are missing out on romance with the opposite gender.
It could also be social pressure making you feel you should be straight.
Stop worrying about labelling yourself. It sounds like you just haven’t met the right person yet.
My e-leaflet on Bisexual Issues will help.
But also consider reaching out to a counsellor to talk through your feelings.
