Joe was born in Blackpool, and grew up in Poulton-le-Fylde with his mum, Steph, and his dad.

The actor was destined to be a star from an early, having been enrolled in the Scream Theatre School in Blackpool when he was just four years old.

Joe landed the role of Jacob Gallagher on Emmerdale in August 2010, and was introduced alongside his on-screen parents, Justin, portrayed by Andrew Langtree, and Alicia Gallagher played by Natalie Anderson.

The actor has remained a regular on the soap ever since, and during his time on Emmerdale he's been nominated by numerous awards, including Best Young Actor at the British Soap Awards.

Alongside his soap stint, he also starred in US action film Broken Hearts as Harri Hart in 2012.

In 2020, it was announced that Joe would be taking a six month long break from Emmerdale in order to take part in Dancing on Ice.

He was paired with professional skater Vanessa Bauer, and the pair wowed the judges during the competition.

Unfortunately, Joe and Vanessa were forced to pull out of the show in week four, after they both tested positive for coronavirus.

In a statement at the time, devastated Joe-Warren said: "Having tested positive for Covid this now means the end of the competition for Vanessa and I.

"I have loved every minute of being a part of Dancing On Ice and I am disappointed as I feel I had so much more to give and was working hard to perfect each performance.”

The pair were hit with romance rumours during their short time on the show, but both Vanessa and Joe denied they were anything more than friends.

Speaking to the Daily Star and several other outlets at the time, Joe said: "With Dancing on Ice, it's about telling a story and engaging with the audience and the judges.

"So you have to have a certain level of chemistry between you and your partner.

"I think everybody saw we're getting on so well and assumed something was going on, but there isn't."

Joe was previously in a long-term relationship with girlfriend Nicole Hadlow, 24, who he reportedly split from in 2021.

The pair were believed to have been together since 2017, and had also moved in together before calling it quits.

Emmerdale continues on weekdays on ITV.
