Excitement is building in the run up to Christmas and shoppers at Marks & Spencer have been wowed by the store’s new £12 product set to fly off the shelves.

M&S is famous for its unique and delicious festive food and drink, from "Percymas" mince pies to luxurious, sparkly gin liqueur with edible gold leaf.

This year the high street chain has pulled out all the stops with what could be its most popular product yet.

Posting on Instagram, the retailer shared its "mind blowing new product" – a box of Christmassy mint chocolates that transforms into a miniature table!

Below the big reveal image, the post read: “MIND-BLOWING new product alert. We don’t want to get you too excited on a Monday, but guys…not only do our After Dinner Mint Chocolates* taste absolutely divine, the box itself TURNS INTO A MINI TABLE.

“No more leaning down to choose your next choc (you’re welcome). Pick one up in stores now, and thank us later!”

The post encouraged shoppers to treat themselves, adding: “*Don’t be fooled by the name, these chocs can and SHOULD be eaten at any time of the day.”

The big reveal left M&S fans gobsmacked, with one user commenting: “I don’t care what the weather is like you have to get this AND the Christmas sandwich.”

Another exclaimed: “Table for one, please!”
