Sometimes there is just nothing more delicious than the simple pleasure of a McDonald's chicken nugget.

Made up of 100 per cent chicken breast meat in a crispy Katsu Curry panko breadcrumb coating, they are accompanied by a classic Sweet Curry dip for some extra added spice.

The nuggets will be available for six weeks from December 30.

Like regular nuggets, they will be available in six (£3.59), nine (£4.09) and 20 piece (£5.99) sharer boxes. It's not clear whether the nuggets will be available to order as part of a meal.

Until then, McDonald's will continue to offer their festive menu – which includes the Double Big Mac, which will soon disappear from the menu for the rest of the year.

The burger has four beef patties as opposed to the usual two, and is topped with the signature Big Mac cheese, lettuce, onions and sauce – all for £4.19 (or £5.69 as a meal).

The giant snack is the biggest burger McDonald’s has ever sold and is a hot order in America, where it launched earlier this year.

In other McDonald's news, the fast food branches in China have just launched a truly bizarre new burger made of Spam with crushed Oreo cookies.

McDonald's around the world work hard to cater to local tastes, but this one left the internet divided.

Precisely, it is slices of Spam in a bun, topped with an Oreo cookie crumb and mayonnaise.

News of the burger has been shared across the world after Daniel Ahmad, from London, posted promotional pictures on Twitter.

He said: "McDonald’s China is introducing a new Oreo x Spam burger on December 21. There will be 400,000 produced and sold."

While it may sound like a hoax, other Twitter followers have reported that they indeed had tried the burger which was limited to one per person in Shanghai branches of McDonalds.

One Twitter user reported that they had tried the unlikely concoction, and it was tastier than they expected.

Sharing their findings on social media, they said: "We found it .. we ate it .. it was really good .. no joke!"

However, another McDonald's fan, Cameron Fowler, took to YouTube to share his findings, and said it was "one of the worst things I have ever eaten".
