Michael McIntyre, 44, has toured all over the world with his comedy shows and has had a successful career in the industry. Born in South London, Michael was born into a family of showbiz. His mother was a dancer and his father co-wrote The Kenny Everett Television Show. How much has he earned?

After dropping out of Edinburgh University after one year, Michael decided to focus on a career in screenwriting.

In 2009, the comedian sold out a record six nights at Wembley Arena and four nights at London’s O2.

As well as that, three years later in 2012, Michael was the highest-grossing stand-up comedian in the world.

His UK tour in 2012 included 71 arena dates, playing to over 700,000 people and according to ticket sales company Pollstar, brought in around £21million.

Other than his comedy work, Michael has also had a successful career on the television screens and has hosted many shows. 

In 2010, it was announced that he would join the ITV talent show Britain’s Got Talent as a judge with David Hasselhoff and Amanda Holden for one series. 

In the same year, Michael hosted the Royal Variety Performance and was invited back in 2014 to present again. 

He also previously performed on the show twice, in 2006 and 2008.

In 2013, the comedian played the biggest comedy gig in Africa to 9,000 fans at the Coca-Cola Dome in Johannesburg. 

In 2018, Michael became the highest selling artist in the history of the O2 Arena, selling over 400,000 tickets over 28 shows, which overtook the previous record held by Take That. 

The comedian has appeared on many panels and chat shows too including Top Gear, The Apprentice: You’re Fired!, and The Big Fat Quiz of the Year.

In his personal life, Michael married aromatherapist wife, Kitty, in 2003.

The couple have two children, Oscar McIntyre, 12, and Lucas McIntyre, 15.

The family live in the upmarket area of Hampstead, London where the average house price is £1.4million according to rightmove. 

His new show Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel airs tonight at 8:30pm on BBC One.
