Morrisons and Tesco are selling Cadbury selection boxes for £1

MORRISONS and Tesco are selling Christmas Cadbury selection boxes for £1.

The bargain chocs are on sale for half price at both supermarkets where they're normally priced at £2.

The medium-sized selection box comes with sixCadbury favourites including Fudge, Wispa, Dairy Milk, Double Decker, Crunchie and a bag of Dairy Milk Buttons.

Overall, the chocolate in the box comes to 150g and they're ideal stocking fillers.

Morrisons is running the 50% off deal until November 8 in stores and online, although you'll need to confirm your online order by then to qualify.

Tesco is also running the half price offer in the festive treats but the deal will last until November 10, giving you a few extra days to bag the bargain.

Here’s how to cut the cost of your grocery shop

SAVING on your shop can make a big difference to your wallet. Here are some tips from about how you can cut the cost of your shopping bills:

  • Write yourself a list – Only buy items that you need. If it isn’t on your list, don’t put it in the trolley
  • Create a budget – Work out a weekly budget for your food shopping
  • Never shop hungry – you are far more likely to buy  more food if your tummy is rumbling
  • Don’t buy pre-chopped veggies or fruit – The extra they’ll charge for chopping can be eye watering
  • Use social media – follow your favourite retailers to find out about the latest deals
  • Be disloyal – You may want to go to different stores to find the best bargains
  • Check the small print –  It’s always worth checking the price per kg/lb/litre when comparing offers so you’re making a like for like decision as a bigger box won’t necessarily mean you get more
  • Use your loyalty cards – Don’t be afraid to sign up to them all. They all work slightly differently – work out what bonus suits you better and remember to trade in your points for additional rewards

The same chocolates are being sold at Sainsbury's for £2, while the smaller version, which weighs 89g, costs £1.

The medium-size boxes are on offer at Asda too – they cost £1.25 down from £1.50, but are still more expensive than the deal at Morrisons and Tesco.

All of the supermarkets charge less than Cadbury Direct where they cost £2.99.

The deals are available in stores and online, although there's a £25 minimum spend at Tesco and £40 minimum spend at Morrisons to qualify for delivery.

You'll also need to fork out extra for delivery – Tesco charges a flat-rate fee of £4.50 for the service, while it costs between £1.70 and £6.90 for delivery from Morrisons, depending on the time and day.

Alternatively, you could head to your nearest store. You'll find your local branch using the locator tool for Tesco and Morrisons.
