I was struggling even before the virus arrived and nothing feels safe or normal.

I am so lost and feel as if I can’t begin to move forward. It’s like I don’t have a purpose in life any more and have aged ten years. I am 67.
My GP is sympathetic but I don’t want tablets. I just want this empty feeling to go.
DEIDRE SAYS: It was as if lockdown froze our lives and emotions – and even now it has eased, so much of the life we used to take for granted has been erased.
But you are not alone. My e-leaflet on Help For Bereavement explains specialist support.
But also reach out through Age UK (ageuk.org.uk, 0800 055 6112) and the Silver Line (thesilverline.org.uk, 0800 470 80 90).
Both befriend older people, especially those feeling low and lonely.
