Prince Charles Is Out of Self-Isolation After Getting Coronavirus. Will He See the Queen?
Life has come to a halt for many people as the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic continues. As the virus spreads, more people are taking to self-isolating themselves in the hopes of avoiding contracting the virus. Unfortunately, despite efforts to avoid the virus, Prince Charles tested positive and had to be quarantined. Now, he is on the other side of the illness.
Prince Charles contracts COVID-19
On Mar. 25, it was announced that the prince had contracted the virus.
“The Prince of Wales has tested positive for Coronavirus,” a spokesperson told CNN. “He has been displaying mild symptoms but otherwise remains in good health and has been working from home throughout the last few days as usual. The Duchess of Cornwall has also been tested but does not have the virus. Per Government and medical advice, the Prince and the Duchess are now self-isolating at home in Scotland.”
The two remained optimistic, even though they had to be separated from one another.
“Both of them remain in good spirits,” a source told People. “There is a sense of keeping calm and carrying on. The duchess is concerned for him but she is aware of his own good spirits and therefore is keeping a close eye on him and mindful of her own situation.”
Prince Charles is out of isolation
After being isolated for seven days, it has been confirmed that the Prince is in good health.
“Clarence House has confirmed today that, having consulted with his doctor, the Prince of Wales is now out of self-isolation,” a spokesman said, according to People.
Though he is no longer isolated, Charles will continue to distance himself from others and only leave his home for essential needs. He will continue working from home, holding meetings via video calls and over the phone.
Will Charles be allowed to see the Queen?
The last time that Queen Elizabeth II saw her son was before his diagnosis.
“Her Majesty The Queen remains in good health. The queen last saw The Prince of Wales briefly after the investiture on the morning of 12th March and is following all the appropriate advice with regard to her welfare,” the spokesperson told the outlet.
The queen is currently at Windsor, while Charles is with Camilla in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
The UK government has advised anyone over 70 or with medical conditions to practice social distancing and the queen has been doing that since Mar. 19 when she left Buckingham Palace and moved to Windsor Castle.
She is residing there with very limited staff.
“Obviously, the fewer people are in contact with each other, the better,” a told The Daily Mail. “No chances can be taken with the Queen’s safety in view of her and the Duke’s ages. But it’s also for the benefit of everyone who works at the Castle. Every firm has been told to send as many of their staff home as possible, and the Royal Family is no different….The Queen is being looked after by her closest servants, while a couple of grooms and stable lads are looking after the horses. Like everywhere else, normal life is being put on hold.”
The queen is really only seeing two of her most beloved staffers, a housemaid, a chef, and a footman, so it’s doubtful that she will be seeing Charles anytime soon.
