Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Branded 'Insufferable' by TV Host Over Latest Appearance

For the first time since the birth of their second child, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made a few joint public appearances in New York City. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited a school in Harlem, toured the 9/11 Memorial, had a meeting at the United Nations, and spoke during the Global Citizen Live concert. But now a TV broadcaster is slamming the couple over their trip and labeling them “insufferable.”

Here’s more on that, plus who else publicly called out the Sussexes.

What Meghan and Harry said in their speech at the Global Citizen Live event

Prince Harry and his wife took the stage during Global Citizen Live at the Great Lawn in Central Park and received a warm welcome from the crowd before speaking about vaccine equality.

“Every single person on this planet has a fundamental right to get this vaccine,” Meghan said (per Harper’s Bazaar). “That’s the point. But that’s not happening. And while in this country and many others you can go almost anywhere and get vaccinated, billions of people around the world cannot.”

Harry then referenced the meetings they had with officials to discuss vaccine distribution shared that “They said many countries are ready to produce vaccines at home, yet they aren’t allowed to, because ultra-wealthy pharmaceutical companies are not sharing the recipes to make them. These countries have the means the ability and the workers to start manufacturing. All they are waiting for is the vaccine intellectual property to be waived and for the vaccine technology to be transferred over.”

Show host calls the duke and duchess ‘insufferable’

Following the Sussexes’ big return to the public eye, Sky News Australia broadcaster Alan Jones took aim at the prince and former Suits star with some harsh words.

“[Whenever] Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are due to appear and speak, they should give us a fair warning so that we can throw on the eye mask and put in the earplugs,” Jones said during his TV program (per the Daily Star).

He continued: “These two are truly insufferable. Their latest — a trip to New York — for a bunch of do-gooder activities. One was to visit the United Nations, they had a meeting with United Nations Deputy Secretary General… Honestly on what basis are these two non-working members of the royal family meeting any politician or world leaders? Their next visit was to a primary school so Meghan could read her children’s book to Year 2 students. I bet half of them were wondering what they did wrong to deserve that.”

The show host concluded his comments by expressing outrage that Meghan and Harry spoke at the climate change event but continue to fly on private jets saying: “Then to preach to us about climate change when only last month Prince Harry was caught taking a private jet home for a polo match.”

Another Sussex critic also blasted the pair following their trip

Jones isn’t the only person to publicly blast the pair after their return to the limelight. Longtime Sussex critic Piers Morgan also slammed the duke and duchess for flying back to their California mansion on a private jet hours after giving their speech. Morgan mocked the couple calling them the “Prince and Princess of Pollution” and the “world’s most toxic royals.”

In a piece for the Daily Mail he wrote: “As with everything in Meghan and Harry’s ludicrous world, they love to preach one thing and do the exact opposite. They’ve just finished a four-day trip to New York which even by their two-faced standards set a new low bar for hypocrisy.”
