Anne, 70, popped up on Twitter while watching Scotland play England in the Rugby Six Nations tournament.
The royal was sitting inside her Gloucestershire home, which didn’t look like the trappings of a palace but instead rather ordinary.
Anne could be seen sitting next to her husband Timothy Laurence, and they looked animated as they gazed at the game playing out on screen.

Anne shared the image on Twitter, via the Royal Family official account, with the caption: “As Scotland team patron, The Princess Royal often supports the team from the stands.
"Her Royal Highness and Vice Admiral Sir Tim cheered Scotland on from home today as they played England for the Calcutta Cup, 150 years since their first match.
"Well played, Scotland."

Inside Anne’s living room is an adorable family photo where we see Ann with her daughter Zara Tindall, as well as her mother, the Queen, and son Peter.
The cosy lounge appears to be a busy space, with trinkets and books all over the place, suggesting the royal spends a great deal of time here.
Other noteworthy items on display are pictures from Princess Zara's 1981 christening, as well as of her son Peter Phillips as a child.

Books and paintings also scatter about the space, including two on animals and paintings from the countryside.
Twitter users were quick to comment on the living space, with one writing: “Absolutely love seeing Princess Anne and Tim so at home, well played Scotland."
Another added: “I bet Princess Anne is desperate to shout from the rooftops how much she enjoyed that win.
"What a great tweet from the Royal Family, and straight after the game."
However others weren’t so impressed with Anne’s living room, with one person writing: “Thank you HRH but please declutter, that would play havoc with my OCD."
Another noted: “I feel a little claustrophobic just looking at all the stuff in their living room," and someone else added: "What a hovel … nothing matches and stuff everywhere."

Commenting on the "clutter," another said: "Love to see that their TV watching room is as cluttered as the average commoner, maybe more so!"
The picture shows Anne sitting on a very floral sofa in an orange shade, and a matching armchair sits beside it.
The living room furniture all follows the same look in a dark wood, and there’s also a dog bed positioned just in front of the coffee table.
