Stacey Solomon shares creative way to make a lava lamp — and your children will love it
Loose Women star Stacey Solomon has taken to Instagram to showcase a fun activity she has been doing with her kids to keep them entertained during the coronavirus pandemic.
The mother of three, alike to many across the UK, is currently on lockdown with her family unable to leave the house except for exercise trips or shopping for essentials.
Yet she still has to entertain her older children – Zachary, 12, and Leighton, seven – due to the closure of schools.
So what has the former X Factor contestant chosen to do with her kids on bank holiday? Make a lava lamp of course!
Firstly, the star started with an empty glass bottle, which she removed the label off.
Over footage of herself showcasing her method, she wrote: “The easiest way to do this I’ve found doing this by pouring hot water into it and leaving it for a while until it’s cooled down. The warm water melts the glue & it peels straight off.”
Once the bottle was ready to use, Stacey outlined the next steps she took to turn it into a lava lamp.
Firstly Leighton filled the bottle with baby oil half way, and then topped it up with a bit of water and added some food colouring.
After doing this he then added a milton tablet and it began to fizz.
Stacey then shared a clip of the lava yellow and orange lava lamp bubbling, and it looked amazing.
Of the finished product the girlfriend of Joe Swash wrote: “They go for AGES, so quick and easy to make… and the boys LOVE THEM & could watch them all day”.
This is not the only impressive thing the 30 year old has rustled up during lockdown to entertain her kids, she has also been coming up with a very inventive way to keep her kids eating healthily and having fun while they do it.

The innovative star has been plating up food in a fun and creative way, making veggies and fruit resemble different animals and objects. Some of it looks almost too good to eat!
For instance the star recently made a fruity peacock using a very ripe avocado for the body shape then green grapes cut in half and covered in blueberries to render the tail.
