Rave to the Moon
Beatboxer SK Shlomo has pulled together a fantastic free NYE party, to raise money for good causes and see out 2020.
The eye-popping line-up includes Basement Jaxx’s Felix teaming up with powerhouse vocalist Vula, left, cheeky hip-hop turntablist DJ Yoda, Camp Bestival’s Rob Da Bank, drum and bass veteran Jumpin Jack Frost, UK garage outfit Heartless Crew, Stockport’s finest Mr Scruff, the House Gospel Choir and beatboxer Beardyman. Edinburgh’s world-famous Hogmanay festival is hopping online with three evenings celebrating Scottish arts and culture. Guests include actors David Tennant, Siobhan Redmond and Lorne MacFayden, poet Jackie Kay, below, and band Niteworks who fuse bagpipes and Celtic folk with electronic music.
The virtual Hogmanay will also feature a visual ode to Scotland’s landscape, drawing on footage from 150 drones, interwoven with animations of stags, eagles and mythical selkies. From Dec 29-31, find out more here.
Just the Tonic
We could all do with a good laugh (and cry) to blast away 2020, and Just The Tonic comedy club has the perfect Zoom comedy night, entitled Good Riddance to 2020, lined up with Romesh Ranganathan , pub landlord Al Murray, and Edinburgh comedy award-winner Spencer Jones, plus Spitting Image’s Matt Forde delivering an alternative Prime Minister’s address.

Defected Records’ final live stream party of 2020 sees DJs including Grammy-winning house maestro Roger Sanchez, deep house and garage duo Gorgon City, electronic music omnivore Eats Everything, and a live performance of high-tech soul music from Inner City.

Kiss 2020 Goodbye
Kiss shows are pure theatrics and spectacle and on NYE Gene Simmons and co will be turning the dial up to 11 with a showstopping gig from the swanky Atlantis hotel in Dubai.
It kicks off at 5pm UK time, and you can send off 2020 in a ball of flames with spectacular pyrotechnics, fireworks, 50 camera views to choose from and what will surely be the biggest, baddest and most ridiculous, virtual concert of 2020. Find out more here.

Dance music platform, Beatport is teaming up with Absolut for a global rave, #DanceTheYearAway party, featuring 20 hours of music from DJs like Carl Cox, Jamie Jones, TOKiMONSTA and Honey Dijon streaming sets from all over the world.

Hacienda House Party
Manchester’s fabled Hacienda rises from the ashes as the ‘Virtual Hacienda’, a faithful 3D Virtual Reality version of the nightclub, for a 24-hour NYE party, paying homage to the late godfather of house, Frankie Knuckles.
The line-up is huge and features performances from Hacienda Classical and Inner City, DJ royalty including Carl Craig, Danny Tenaglia, David Morales, Moby, DJ Paulette and Todd Terry (above), and DJs who made the Hacienda what it is, including Graeme Park, Greg Wilson, Justin Robertson, K-Klass and Peter Hook.
It’s free, although donations are welcomed to support Manchester’s struggling nightlife industries. Find out more here.
The larger than life Belgian EDM festival returns for a spectacular, state of the art, immersive New Year’s Eve party with more than 25 DJs performing across four digital stages (Atmosphere, Melodia, Planaxis, Pulse), plus fireworks at midnight.
