The pandemic has made me so scared of death – it is all I think about

DEAR DEIDRE: MY fear of death makes me cry. I can’t stop thinking about it.

I can’t sleep for the worry and I can feel my heart racing. It’s a nightmare.

I am a boy of 17. I am ambitious and want to have a fulfilling life and career but the Covid-19 pandemic has affected me deeply and made me realise life is not for ever.

I realised too that one day I will have to leave this world.

I tried to deal with my anxiety over dying but nothing has helped.

I feel completely unsafe but can’t discuss it with anyone.

What can I do to deal with death anxiety?

DEIDRE SAYS: Death is the biggest certainty we all face and the pandemic has spread fear far and wide.

But healthy young people are very unlikely to die of anything any time soon.

Decide you are going to live every day to the full and focus on achieving all you can in your life.

Meanwhile, mindfulness can help you calm your thoughts. Check out headspace.com.
