Will Ferrell set to host ‘Saturday Night Live’ for fifth time

“Saturday Night Live” alum Will Ferrell will guest host the sketch comedy show on Nov. 23 — joining the five-timers club.

As a a cast member from 1995 to 2002, Ferrell left his mark with impressions of notables like “Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek and former President George W. Bush (who appreciated Ferrell’s impersonation). He also portrayed now-iconic characters including annoying Spartans cheerleader Craig alongside Cheri Oteri; half of the dancing “Roxbury Guys” with Chris Kattan; mutton-chopped keyboardist Marty Culp; and, perhaps most famously, the overly enthusiastic cowbell guy, Gene Frenkle, from the 2000 sketch about the recording of the Blue Oyster Cult song “(Don’t Fear) the Reaper.”

King Princess, who recently released her debut solo album, “Cheap Queen,” will be the musical guest.

“SNL” returns this week with former One Direction singer Harry Styles as both host and musical guest.
