'90 Day Fiancé': Can Paul Staehle Care for His 2 Dogs Along With Karine and Pierre? Fans Aren't Convinced
Many of the couples that have been featured in TLC’s hit reality drama, 90 Day Fiancé tend to thrive on drama — and Paul Staehle and Karine Martins are no exception.
The two go way back on the reality series, and for longtime viewers, they provide some of the richest entertainment around. Staehle and Martins just can’t stay out of trouble, and there is no shortage of fan debate online regarding their relationship.
Recently, some fans on Reddit discussed Staehle’s pet dogs, and a lively debate arose regarding their rather suspect living conditions.
’90 Day Fiancé’ is a popular reality series
90 Day Fiancé first debuted on television in 2014 and has been a mainstay in entertainment ever since. The show documents couples who apply for a K-1 visa and their struggles to adapt to a long-distance relationship.
Many times, family members come between the pair, and the featured couples must deal with complications that arise due to immigration concerns, moving problems, the pressures of the spotlight, and much more.
The show has spawned many spinoffs, including the fan-favorite series 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way and 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days. One thing that all the shows have in common is that they are all founded on drama.
Rarely do things go smoothly between the featured couples — which certainly makes for great television, if not a rock-solid relationship.
Paul Staehle and Karine Martins have been affiliated with ’90 Day Fiancé’ for a long time
Throughout the history of 90 Day Fiancé, several couples have made a strong impression on viewers and have ended up appearing multiple times across several of the show’s spinoffs. One such couple is Paul Staehle and Karine Martins.
The two first appeared in very early seasons of 90 Day Fiancé, and their courtship was documented throughout several seasons. They made a reappearance on the spinoff show, 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, as they worked through the intricacies of Martin’s K-1 visa.
They welcomed a baby in March 2019 per Heavy, but their newfound domestic bliss has been marred by regular confrontations, mistrust, and lots of social media drama. These days, the two are starring in TLC’s Happily Ever After? spinoff, and continue to bring the drama, week after week.
With talk of divorce on the horizon and newfound concerns that Martin could be trying to slip glass into Staehle’s food, fans are finding more content than ever to discuss — including the way that Staehle apparently treats his pet dogs.
Fans are concerned about the way Paul Staehle cares for his dogs
A recent Reddit thread detailed concerns from viewers about the living conditions of Paul Staehle’s dogs. The original poster pointed out that the dogs are seen on the show living in a small outside kennel, and stated that it seems as though Staehle “can’t even afford to feed them.”
The poster also called Staehle out, stating that “I guess it makes sense that he likes to keep things in cages based on how he treats Karine.”
Other fans were quick to respond, with one poster commenting a detailed report of Staehle’s social media history, which apparently reveals that the reality star has been all over the place, and that the two German Shepherd dogs might actually live in better conditions than some of his social media posts would suggest.
“It seems Paul was back in the states by June 2019 and as far as we know the dogs have been with him since. That one room house TLC depicted, it may have been only a storyline. His photos show a much larger 2 bedroom brick facade home with dog beds inside, in which the family lived after they moved back to the US in 2019.”
Staehle’s social media certainly supports the idea that the two dogs are being taken care of — as recently as May 2020, he posted a picture on Instagram that showed the dogs on their own raised beds, in an indoor living space.
The more recent pictures are a marked improvement over some Instagram pictures he posted in 2018, which seemed to reveal that the dogs lived in more cramped conditions.
Ultimately, while many Reddit posters expressed the opinion that he should rehome the dogs, the final verdict as to the cleanliness of their living space was mixed — proving that sometimes, reality television doesn’t always present a clear picture.
