Ant and Dec – five facts about the Britain’s Got Talent and I’m A Celebrity presenters
But here are some fun facts you may not know about the famous twosome…
1) Dec was famous first
The pair first met on the children's television show, Byker Grove in 1990.
They played PJ (Ant) and Duncan (Dec).
However, Dec was on the show from 1989 and Ant joined in 1990.
2) They had a successful pop career
After leaving Byker Grove the boys embarked on a pop career – and they were pretty successful too.
Due to the popularity of their Byker characters, they called themselves PJ & Duncan – they also added an AKA to the end of it, but this was quickly dropped.
The boys were popstars from 1994 to 1997 – when their record label decided not to renew their contract.
During their pop career they had five top ten hits including Let's Let's Get Ready To Rhumble.
3) Dec comes from a HUGE family
Dec is the youngest of SEVEN children of Irish parents who moved to Newcastle in the 1950s.
He once said:"I grew up being called Eamonn-Martin-Dermott-Declan because I was the youngest of the boys and Mum would go through all their names first before she got to mine."
Meanwhile, Ant has two sisters.
4) They always stand the same way
Ant always stands on the left and Dec on the right.
They call it the 180-degree rule.
But this hasn't always been the case – before they were presenters they often stood with Dec on the left (as you can see from the picture below).
5) Ant is a lot taller than Dec
The pair aren't blessed with height and can often be heard making jokes about how tall they are.
Ant is actually the tallest at 5ft 10in.
Meanwhile, Dec is actually FOUR inches smaller and stands at 5ft 6in.
