Ant McPartlin had 'furious row with Lisa Armstrong over their dog' hours before drink-drive crash
The telly favourite was arrested after smashing his Mini into two other cars back in March – and new claims suggest the accident happened following an argument with his ex.
The Mirror reports Lisa, 41, spoke to Ant, 42, at lunchtime on March 19 – hours before the accident.
They are said to have rowed over who was going to be looking after their beloved chocolate Labrador Hurley.
A friend of Lisa's told the publication the conversation got heated and descended into an angry exchange of words.
They said: "It was to do with who should have Hurley next, as they are meant to be sharing custody.
"It quickly descended into angry words and swearing between them.
"At one point, Lisa’s dad took the phone out of Lisa’s hand and firmly told Ant, ‘Don’t you dare speak to my daughter like that’.”
One of Ant's pals told The Mirror: "Lisa is no angel in this. She would have been giving it back, and then some."
Hurley was in the car with Ant and his mum Christine Woodhall when he swerved and hit two cars in Richmond, South West London.
Ant later later admitted a drink-driving charge and was fined a record £86,000.
The Sun previously reported the former couple were battling for custody of their pooch following the breakdown of their marriage.
They are now believed to have an arrangement in place so they can both spend time with their pet.
The warring exes were back in the headlines this week after we revealed Ant is now dating his personal assistant Anne-Marie Corbett, a former friend of Lisa's.
Lisa launched an angry tirade on Twitter after finding out about the romance by reading The Sun's story.
