Black Lightning season 2 casts Supergirl star as a different DC character
Black Lightning has added another new cast member to its list ahead of season two, and it’s a face that may be familiar to fans of Supergirl.
Sofia Vassilieva played the cultist Olivia in two episodes of Supergirl‘s third season, and now she’s back for more.
Before you start chanting from the roof that the show is finally being brought into the Arrowverse fold, it looks like Sofia is playing a completely different character.

TVLine has reported that Vassilieva has been cast as the character Looker in Black Lightning, and we’re going full Comics Are Weird with this one.
So, Looker, also known as Emily Briggs, was a normal Gotham City bank worker who discovered she was part of an underground race of people, who gained superpowers due to Halley’s Comet.
Then she became a vampire, as you do. Sometimes she’s immune to sunlight, other times she’s not. She used to have a costume that was invisible on one side, so to change into her superhero getup she just turned her costume inside out. Of course.
We don’t know what they’re going to do with the character in the show, but showrunner Salim Akil teased that: “It’s really going to be interesting, the way we approach that story…. I think people will enjoy it, but also be challenged by it.”
Black Lightning airs on The CW in the US and Netflix in the UK.
