Britain’s Got Talent child star Charlie Wernham looks unrecognisable as he joins EastEnders as Aaron Monroe
Britain's Got Talent child star Charlie Wernham looks almost unrecognisable as he joined EastEnders recently as newcomer Aaron Monroe.
Charlie, 27, soared to fame back in 2008 when he auditioned on the ITV talent show as a stand-up comedian when he was just 13.
Piers Morgan claimed at the time that Charlie's jokes were terrible but softened the blow by adding that he'd delivered a confident performance.
On the other hand, Simon Cowell exclaimed: "We've had some rotten comedians on this show, but you're the only one who's made me laugh and told jokes that I could understand."
The performer even managed to make it through to the live semi-finals, however, he sadly failed to make it through to the final where dancer George Sampson was crowned the winner.
Since appearing on BGT, Charlie has had a successful acting career as he has starred in the likes of Bad Education, School of Comedy and even Hollyoaks as Robbie Roscoe from 2013 to 2016.
More recently, the actor has joined EastEnders as newcomer Aaron Monroe who has stopped by Albert Square to see his dad Harvey (played by Ross Boatman) and younger sister Dana (Barbara Smith).
Speaking about his new role, Charlie admitted that he is a huge fan of the BBC One soap, he said: "I've watched it ever since I can remember with my family, to be honest it was the only show I ever really watched when I was younger.
He added: “As I started working, I didn't watch it as much as I would have liked but I think it was the show that made me want to do drama at school when I was younger too.
