IT: Chapter 2 will be "scarier and more intense" and you'll need diapers
If you thought the first IT movie was scary last year, then be prepared – because the sequel is even more terrifying.
Chapter 2 is coming next year, and to put it in the words of director Andy Muschietti, “bring your adult diapers” when you buy your movie ticket.
“They’re going to find a lot of things that resemble the first one – the humour, the emotion, the horror,” he explained (via ComicBook.com).
“People are very invested emotionally in the characters of the story.
“At the end of the first one, there’s a promise of something else… It’s going to be scarier. It’s going to be a more intense experience. So bring your adult diapers to the theatre.”
Gulp.
So far, we know that Jessica Chastain has signed on to play the adult version of Beverly Marsh, while Bill Hader and James McAvoy have been lined up for major roles as well.
The movie is set to begin production this July.
“The script is still being finalised and the locations are currently being scouted in anticipation of shooting then,” producer Roy Lee said.
Chapter 2 will follow the Losers Club 27 years after the events of the first film, when the now-grown-up group are suddenly summoned back to Derry because it looks like Pennywise (Bill Skarsgård) has returned.
It: Chapter 2 is due to be released in September 2019. It: Chapter 1 is out now on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, DVD and digital download.
