Cheryl won't be performing live on Britain's Got Talent after fans hoped it could be her music comeback
Her loyal fans whipped themselves up into a frenzy today after fake news Twitter accounts convinced them she would be performing.
Every year, the hit ITV show lines up big name stars to perform and previously Little Mix and Camila Cabello have taken to the stage.
But sadly Cheryl isn’t going to be one of the live acts, with a show insider telling The Sun Online: “Cheryl performing on the show isn’t something being lined up for this year.”
Her fans will no doubt be gutted after they inundated the mum-of-one with tweets about her supposed live comeback.
One told her: “I'm waiting for you to confirm this yourself Cheryl, c'mon the suspense is killing us all!”
Another said: “Can't wait to hear @CherylOfficial new song on @BBCR1 & then watch her perform on @BGT the same week. It's safe to say that the queen is back.”
But while her live comeback might not be taking place during Britain’s Got Talent, her fans won’t have to wait too long to hear from her.
The Sun Online confirmed Cheryl was back in the studio at the start of this year.
Earlier this year she registered her first piece of music since 2014, a track called That’s My Song.
Cheryl is marked as the performer on the track and her former Girls Aloud co-star Nicola Roberts as one of the authors.
Nicola said of their writing sessions: “I'm writing for Cheryl and also for myself.
“Hopefully those songs are good enough to make it out into the world.”
Cheryl is also working with Beyonce’s producer Naughty Boy.
