Coronation Street fans go wild as they spot Max Turner’s double on ITV soap

Coronation Street viewers had to double take during a recent episode of the ITV soap after they spotted a new actor who was the spit of character Max Turner.

In Wednesday 6 April’s instalment of the show, rising star Zach Riordan – who is the older brother of Sam Blakeman actor Jude Riordan – made his debut on the Corrie cobbles.

The siblings shared the screen as Zach stepped into the shoes of teenager Oscar, who was competing against Sam in a game of chess.

However, when Zach first appeared on screen, eagle-eyed soap fans thought he was an existing character Max Turner, played by Paddy Bever, and commented on how alike the pair look.

Taking to social media, one baffled fan said: “Thought that was Max then lol#corrie.”

A second commented: “I thought that was Max for a second tbh,” as another questioned: “Why does Oscar look like Sam’s cousin Max?”

Others also shared that they had to double take, saying the two actors look like they could actually be related.

Further clearing up the confusion about the lookalike actors, Zach’s younger sibling Jude took to his social media account to reveal it was his real-life brother playing Oscar.

The ten year old actor shared a picture from the scene on Twitter.

He then wrote alongside it: “When it was bring your Brother to work day.

“Sam smashed Oscar out of the bistro. BEST DAY so far @itvcorrie #bubblebrothers #samvoscar #corrie.”

Sam then shared another photo of a sign for their joint dressing room, as well as some behind the scenes snaps of their time together on set.

Soap fans were thrilled to see the two together side by side on the box, and again flocked to Twitter to comment on the big moment for the brothers.
