Coronation Street fans in hysterics as Audrey asks Gail about ‘mysterious Fanny’

Coronation Street viewers were sent into meltdown on Friday evening as the soap once again made a reference to Fanny.

Gail Platt (Helen Worth) was gobsmacked earlier this when she found a photograph of a woman named Fanny within her family photos.

She became determined to find out about the mystery woman and she launched an investigation.

The mystery hadn't been mentioned for a while but Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicolls) was gear to find out about Fanny during the latest visit to Weatherfield.

Audrey asked her daughter Gail: "Any more to say about the mysterious Fanny?"

Viewers at home rushed to their keyboards as they didn't expect to hear such a question whilst eating their tea.

Taking to Twitter, one fan penned "Omg we are back to Gail’s mysterious Fanny. I can’t breath."

Another added: "Mysterious fanny eh Audrey haha.

A third person joked: "I'd like to know more about Gail's mysterious fanny.

While a fourth penned: "When Audrey asks Gail about the mysterious Fanny."

Gail told her mum: "Didn’t I tell you?There was a postcard in that box, and it mentioned that Fanny accompanied, get this, Mr Churchill.

"Churchil did campaign for a by-election in Oldham at the turn of the century, and I’m pretty sure that great great granny Fanny had links to Oldham."

Audrey was impressed by the discovery an quickly informed Gail that she reminded her of Winston Churchill when she was a child.

Fans will have to wait and see if Gail finally gets to the bottom of the mysterious Fanny.

Coronation Street viewers were left fuming on Wendesday as a funeral cortege went wrong.

One viewer said they were "hurt"' by the scenes featuring the Street Cars crew Eileen Grimshaw, Steve McDonald and Tim Metcalfe ruining the send-off for Gail Rodwell's father Ted.

Hearing that he was a driver down, Street Cars taxi rank operator Eileen offered to help funeral director George Shuttleworth by volunteering her drivers Steve and Tim.

Gail's nemesis Eileen jumped in the hearse and assured George she knew what she was doing, until she feared that she had run over the family dog David.
