Coronation Street spoilers: David Platt is supported by ex Shona Ramsey AND Gary Windass as he turns up to court trial for brutal attack

The actor, played by Jack P. Shepherd, is facing trial for brutally attacking Gary during a charity boxing match.

But it looks like Gary might be the one to help get him off the hook as he arrives wearing a suit, looking ready to give testimony.

Viewers have already seen him trying to get to the bottom of what is really troubling David, who is yet to tell anyone he was drugged and raped by Josh Tucker, which could mean he’s prepared to help him in court.

David’s ex Shona is also seen arriving at the court, alongside his mum Gail.

It’s thought these images are set to air in June, which means viewers will first see David locked up for missing his first court date.

Last weekend it was revealed that with his head full of the rape trauma, David forgets he is due in court and misses a crucial hearing.

Not understanding why, the court issues an arrest warrant and David faces months in prison alone.

A Corrie insider told Daily Star: “David’s head is all over the place and he completely forgets he is due in court.

"He could be inside for months, which is going to be heartbreaking to watch given everything he is going through.”

Jack, who plays David, recently admitted he didn’t know how long it would be until he spoke out about his ordeal.

He told Digital Spy: “I think they say that on average it takes 25 years for a man to talk about it to anyone, let alone speak to the police.

"Obviously we're not going to keep the storyline going for 25 years – that'd be awful viewing – but that's actually what happens. But obviously when the episodes went out where it happened to David, people did start talking.

"I think everybody agrees that Josh is a bad person and David has been through something horrific, so I think Josh does need to get his comeuppance."
