Coronation Streets Gail Platt to die as fans figure out chilling health twist
Coronation Street viewers have predicted Gail Platt might get killed off in upcoming scenes, as the soap stalwart faces a devastating health battle.
Wednesday evening's episode saw Gail, played by Helen Worth, row with her two sons David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) and Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) in number eight Coronation Street.
David had tricked Gail into bringing her grandson Sam Blakeman to the house – trying to reunite the schoolboy with his dad Nick, who was forbidden from seeing his son.
A row broke out when Nick realised what David had done, and Gail was forced to hurry outside for some fresh air.
Suddenly, she doubled over, clutching her chest as waves of pain spread through her body.
Little Sam followed her out and quickly realising what was happening, identifying the heart attack and running to get help.
Watching from home, certain fans were worried Gail's days were numbered, fearing the heart attack signalled her exit from the soap.
"I hope they're not going to kill Gail off," penned one concerned viewer.
A second agreed: "Gail's going to keel over I reckon #Corrie."
"Oh god, hope Gail is not ill," and a third, realising something was gravely wrong, remarked.
Meanwhile, a fourth fan pointed out Gail has led an incredibly stressful life, so it's no wonder the pressure was getting to her.
They mused: "Gail has had four husbands die in dramatic circumstances, she married her own burglar, had her life savings taken by a conman, her daughter was pregnant at 13, she and her family survived being driven into the canal by her serial killer 3rd husband and NOW it's too much?!"
Acclaimed actress Helen, 70, has been a fixture on Corrie since 1974, with the role winning her two Outstanding Achievement Awards.
Last year, the soap favourite discussed whether she planned to leave Corrie in the near future, opening up during an appearance on This Morning.
Phillip Schofield asked: “You and he [Jack P Shepherd] are certainly for the foreseeable future, absolutely tied to Corrie?”
Helen replied: “Well I hope I’m not going anywhere, I’ve not heard anything.
“No one has told me anything.”
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
