Coronation Street's Pat Phelan to reunite with his first victim Michael Rodwell
This wasn’t the kind of comeuppance we were expecting after Pat Phelan’s reign of terror over Coronation Street, but it is poetic justice all the same.
In a wonderful turn of events, Connor McIntyre, who plays Phelan, is set to be treading the panto boards later this year alongside his very first (albeit somewhat indirect) victim on the soap.
‘Oh no, he isn’t!’, etc.
Pantomime producers QDos announced the news on Twitter, revealing that Connor and Les Dennis – a certain Michael Rodwell – will take part in their production of Cinderella.
Even better than that is the fact they’ll be playing the Ugly Sisters. A perfect casting choice, we’re sure you’ll agree.
Before fans get to see Connor and Les reunited as siblings rather than nemeses, they’ll have to get through the long-awaited outcome of Phelan’s villainous killing spree in Corrie.
Connor recently promised fans that justice will be served for Phelan, as “soap law decrees” it.
“Soap law decrees that he gets his comeuppance – and the audience deserves that because they’ve been very patient. Good should triumph,” he said. “You’re going to love how it all plays out.”
We’re sure we will.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
