Coronation Street's Sally Dynevor speaks out on producer shake-up after Kate Oates exit
Coronation Street star Sally Dynevor has spoken out about the soap’s producer shake-up, following the news that Kate Oates is leaving.
Kate – who is Corrie‘s current boss – confirmed last night that she’s moving on from the show, after two years in the top job.
Emmerdale producer Iain MacLeod will taking over the reign at Corrie, with the changes taking effect from June.
Speaking about the changes during an interview on Lorraine this morning (April 24), Sally said: “Yes, it’s always very sad to see somebody go but Kate Oates has done very well on the show.
“We wish her the best and we’re looking forward to working with Iain MacLeod. It’s all changes – as usual on Corrie. It’s all very exciting.”
The big soap changeover involving Iain and Kate has sparked a significant production restructure at Emmerdale.

Former ITV drama commissioner Jane Hudson has been appointed to the new role of executive producer, and will be responsible for the future editorial and creative direction of the show.
Meanwhile, Emmerdale‘s current assistant producer Kate Brooks and existing series script producer Laura Shaw will now share the title of producer – producing blocks of episodes on a rotational basis.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
