Corrie favourite set for ‘bombshell’ comeback as he confronts cheating ex-wife
Coronation Street favourite Nick Tilsley will return to the cobbles this summer as part of a dramatic new storyline.
The former Bistro owner, who only left the ITV soap in June last year, is set for a "bombshell" comeback.
Ben Price’s character will be forced to confront cheating ex-wife Carla Connor in explosive scenes as well as former missus Leanne Battersby.
Full details of Nick’s return have yet to be decided but producers are currently devising something fitting of the iconic character.
Nick will try to overcome the scary Platt family curse while living in the same street as two of his exes and the baby he believed was his own.
A Corrie source told The Sun : "Exactly how Nick will be brought back into the fray is still to be decided.
“But the Platts, and in particular Nick, are a massive part of the Corrie family and always at the heart of some of the show’s biggest storylines.
“Producers are currently coming up with a bombshell way for him to come back to Weatherfield.”
Viewers last saw Nick ride off into the sunset as he bid farewell to upset mother Gail, who blamed Leanne for his sudden exit.
Nick nearly died when he was trapped in quicksand, but was saved by long-time nemesis Peter Barlow and love rival Steve McDonald.
He was horrified to discover that Leanne had pretended Steve’s baby was his after the former Rovers landlord cheated on Michelle Connor.
There are a lot of bad memories on the cobbles for Nick, who will also have to face Robert Preston.
On his wedding day to Carla, he discovered that she had slept with Robert when Tracey Barlow spilt the beans.
To make matters worse, Robert only recently changed the name of the Bistro to remove Nick’s name.
*Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV
