Dancing On Ice coaches reveal real reason Gemma Collins fell amid ‘fake’ claims
The Dancing On Ice judges have revealed the reason they believe Gemma Collins fell over during her live performance.
The TOWIE star shocked viewers on Sunday night’s show when she fell face first onto the ice towards the end of her routine.
Brave Gemma immediately got back to her feet and finished her performance, but was left in tears and in agony backstage.
Some viewers are not convinced the fall was genuine and have accused The GC of ‘faking’ it – with a slowed down video appearing to back the theory.
Speaking on today’s This Morning, former contestant Kem Cetinay explained what the judges had told him behind-the-scenes.
He said: "I was speaking to the coaches backstage. The reason they think she fell is she went too much with the flower pose."
Holly Willoughby admitted she was shocked to see a celebrity go down during the live show.
Revealing her surprise, she said: "It’s funny isn’t it. We see lots of tumbles in rehearsals. But when it comes to the live show it doesn’t actually happen."
Kem added: "So much credit to her for getting up. I did see her after the show and she was so upset."
Holly and Phil also praised professional skater Matt Evers for saving Gemma from an even worse fate.
Holly said: "If you watch him in that clip he skates in front of her to stop her."
Phillip added: "She was about to hit the edge of the rink. He goes round and he’s stopping her there from going into the side."
Boyfriend James ‘Arg’ Argent feared she had "done her teeth in" and maybe even "broken her jaw".
In a video clip filmed after her performance, Arg praised his girlfriend for getting back up like boxer Tyson Fury .
Gemma broke her silence of the controversial fall on Monday morning as she returned to social media.
The Essex diva shared a clip of her now infamous face plant and admitted she feels mortified.
She said: "Absolutely devastated & embarrassed, My heart is broken but when I went down I thought of Tyson Fury and knew I had to get back up & carry on!
"Can’t thank you enough for your support on social media and picking up the phone to vote! Im in a lot of pain but bring on fantasy week!!"
