Dancing On Ice week one line up and their professional partners

Dancing On Ice will be back this weekend to bring joy to your screen week after week.

Fans were worried about the show not being able to go ahead due to the coronavirus pandemic – but luckily it is.

Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby will return to present the show, and the expert Ice Panel will be back to give their verdict.

The show may look a little different this time round, as the set has had to be changed to make it Covid secure – and there will be no live audience.

In addition to these changes, there is a whole new group of celebrities hoping to impress the judges and the people at home.

In the first week, only six celebrity skaters and their partners will compete, and the remaining six will take to the ice the following week.

But who will compete in week one? Here is everything you need to know.

Who will skate in the first week of Dancing On Ice?

Jason Donovan & Alexandra Schauman

Singer and actor Jason Donovan will take to the ice with Finnish figure skater Alexandra Schauman.

Jason’s biggest fear about the show is being injured.

In a pre-show interview, he explained: “I think for me, personally, I have other obligations beyond Dancing on Ice so those have to be considered and balanced.

“You want to do the best show you can but you want to do a show that’s safe as well. It’s that line between sexy TV and safe TV!”

Joe-Warren Plant & Vanessa Bauer

Emmerdale actor Joe-Warren Plant will perform on the first Dancing On Ice show with German dancer and figure skater Vanessa Bauer.

Joe-Warren is mostly apprehensive about the live-aspect of the show, as he hasn’t done much live TV before.

But ahead of the show he added: “I’ve always liked a challenge so I think and hope the skating will be alright.”

Denise Van Outen & Matt Evers

Singer, dancer and presenter Denise Van Outen will perform alongside American professional skater Matt Evers.

Ahead of going on the show, Denise said: “I just want to learn to skate, do the best that I can and hope that I could win it.

“It’s more proving to myself and enjoying it and learning to do some of the tricks that I’ve watched other people do.”

Graham Bell & Yebin Mok

Olympic skier Graham Bell and his professional partner Yebin Mok will perform in the first show.

Taking to the ice doesn’t scare Graham, but performing in front of millions of people does.

He added before the show: “I’m used to ice but dancing, proper dancing.

“Not just the kind that’s drunk on a table wearing ski boots – that’s not dancing.”

Lady Leshurr & Brendyn Hatfield

Musician Lady Leshurr and pro skater Brendyn Hatfield will take to the ice this coming weekend.

Lady Leshurr loves a challenge, and is excited to take on the Dancing On Ice challenge.

She said: “Where I’m at right now mentally is that I’ve been trying to push myself out of my comfort zone.

“Everyone sees me as this musician but I know I’ve got more to that.”

Rebekah Vardy & Andy Buchanan

Model and TV personality Rebekah Vardy is partnered with pro skater Andy Buchanan.

Ahead of appearing on the show, Rebekah said: “I’m not going to lie, I am really competitive but not in a bad way.

“Anything I do I like to give it 100% and you’ll probably see quite a bit of determination from me.”

Dancing On Ice returns to ITV on Sunday, January 17 at 6pm.
