Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham prove there's no hard feelings as they banter on Instagram after split

The couple, who triumphed on the ITV2 reality show this year, shocked fans when they announced they were going their separate ways this week.

But it seems Jack, 27 – who was filming a reality show based on his life with Dani and was due to star in the upcoming Love Island Christmas special with her – is still a firm favourite with Dani’s grandmother Christine Dyer.

Dani, 22, shared a picture on Instagram of her gran as she raised a glass of wine during an evening out at a restaurant.

The actress captured the snap: “I really love you Nanny.”

And it wasn’t long before Dani’s ex Jack commented, writing: “Here she is.”

Dani cheerfully replied: “@jackcharlesf she loves ya.”

The friendly exchanged left their followers baffled, with one person responding: “@danidyerxx what are u still together??”

Another remarked: “@jackcharlesf I’m so confused jack.”

Dani and Jack's fans were left confused after her nan insisted the star hadn't split from Jack this week – just hours after the former couple confirmed it.

Her grandmother took to Twitter to insist the pair are just "too busy" to "live in each other's pockets".

Dani confirmed the split news on her Instagram page, confirming she and Jack have parted ways just four months after leaving the villa.

However, it appeared at the time Dani was yet to tell her nan because, after the story broke, Chris took to Twitter to insist the pair are still together.

She wrote: "Oh do f*** off. They have not split up at all. They are both really busy and don’t have to live in each other’s pockets…"

Her message left fans seriously confused and they swamped Chris' page with tweets asking whether the couple were giving their doomed romance another go.

One wrote: "I'm so confused now because this is what Dani had posted on here instagram story. I hope they haven't though."

Another added: "Chrissie have they got back together xx…"

A third tweeted: "So they haven’t split, im really confused xx."

Dani stunned her followers this week by confirming the romance was over in a statement posted on Instagram shortly after The Sun Online broke the story.

The Sun Online has since revealed she dumped Jack after deciding enough was enough following a series of rows.

He knew things weren't going well but was convinced they could make it work.

A source told us: "Dani may have said this was a mutual decision, but that's not the case. She ended it.

"He felt they could have made it work, but she showed a hard side and called time on the relationship."

Dani called it quits with the pen salesman just four months after leaving the Love Island villa, saying it wasn't meant to be long term.

In her statement, which has since been deleted, Dani wrote: "Jack and I have sadly decided to part ways. It's been an incredible six months and we will always have a place in our hearts for each other, but we've sadly come to the realisation that it's not meant to be long term.

"We both plan to stay friends. I hope you'll all understand. Love Dani x."

A source exclusively told us how the demands of life after the villa made it difficult for the pair to go on.

The insider said: "When they left the villa they really thought they would stay together forever, but reality soon set in and things started to get strained.

"They came out to a whirlwind of publicity and after a while things started to get to them and the cracks appeared.

"They are both incredibly busy and they have decided to call time on their romance."

Awkwardly, the pair's announcement comes the same day as a new trailer for Love Island's Christmas Reunion in which they play the happy couple sharing presents and dancing.

They are also due to host the National Television Awards together in January, but The Sun Online has confirmed they still plan on doing the gig despite the split.
