Davina McCall teases The Masked Singer celeb identities with cryptic accent hint

The Masked Singer star Davina McCall dished on the second series of the Masked Singer on the This Morning Christmas special.

Davina, 53, is returning as a panellist on the hit ITV show, which see the arrival of new judge Mo Gilligan, who is replacing Ken Jeong.

As she talked about working out the identities, she said: "I found it harder this time. I think they know (the singers) where are our brains are going to go, there’s some like weird algorithm happening and they think they slightly send you off.

"But not only that, the singers this year are so interesting because you’ll be going, 'I think they’re America' and then the next week you’ll go, 'I think they’re from up North' and they’re faking it."

Davina added about the backlash the show got in the first series, saying: "It's not a talent show, it took people a long time to get their heads round it.

"I've provided my offspring with paper and pens so they can write down the clues, I am forensic.

"I'm a good secret keeper on the show because I know how boring it is when you know."

Davina's co-star Joel Dommett, who presents the show, also dropped some cryptic clues about the show when he appeared on Lorraine earlier this week.

He told Ranvir Singh, who was standing in for the Scottish host: "The clue packages are much harder this time round, they can really throw you off the scent.

"I think last year they went a little easier as people were getting a sense of the show.

"I will say it's much harder when you're in the studio than when you're sat at home and you've got Google.

"This year there's certainly a couple of people that had everyone thrown off right until the end."

The second series of The Masked Singer returns to ITV on Boxing Day at 7pm.
