Denise Van Outen reveals footballer sent her love note as she is seen for first time since split with Eddie Boxshall
DENISE Van Outen put on a brave face as she made her first TV appearance after announcing her split from fiance Eddie Boxshall.
The actress appeared on Channel 4 show Steph's Packed Lunch on Monday just days after confirming the shock break-up on social media.
Denise, 47, took to Instagram to confirm the news that she and her Celebrity Gogglebox co-star fiance had gone their separate ways after seven years together.
The Sun exclusively revealed how the star ditched him after discovering he has been having phone sex and dates with other women.
Today, Denise wasted no time in opening up about her dating life as she discussed a romantic experience from her past with a famous footballer.
She told Channel 4 viewers that she once received a flirty note from a "very, very famous" football ace just moments before they went on TV together.
It came as show hostess Steph McGovern probed into her guests' past romances, discussing various "quirky ways" they had been asked out.
"I did get a letter under the door years ago when I was doing a BBC show – a very, very famous footballer slipped a note under my dressing room door," Denise said.
"Just before we went live on air – I can't say who it was," she continued, as Steph, 39, began to speculate it could have been David Beckham or John Terry.
"He was single at the time, which is unusual for a footballer. He had very nice writing. It was quite a long letter, but I was already seeing someone," Denise added.
“I had to go on TV with him and it was really awkward. We were sitting there and he kept going to me…" she said as she suggestively raised her eyebrows.

Last week, Denise confirmed her split from fiance Eddie, 47, in an emotional Instagram post as she shared a snap of herself walking her dogs.
Denise wrote: "Over the past couple of months, there has been much speculation regarding my relationship with Eddie.
"It saddens me to confirm that we are no longer a couple. I had to make the difficult decision not to continue in our relationship.
"I will always treasure the good times we spent together, and the memories made."
She concluded: "We ask that you please respect our privacy at this time, especially for our children."
Denise is mum to daughter Betsy, 11, from her marriage to singer Lee Mead, while Eddie has two grown-up children from a previous relationship.
Denise was planning to tie the knot this year with her fiance.
However, she asked Eddie — dad to son Jordan, 25, and daughter Leah, 22, — to leave their Essex home two months ago.
The Sun revealed tonight that she asked him to leave their home after discovering he had been swapping raunchy messages and calls with women he met online.
A source close to the couple, who had been together for seven years, said: “Denise is both furiously angry and utterly heartbroken. It’s the very last thing she expected to happen after she had been so happy with Eddie.
“She thought this was for ever. But while she has been out at work he’s been sat in her home betraying her trust.”
