Disney wants Incredibles 2 director Brad Bird to pitch them Star Wars ideas

Scores of children’s and adults’ summers will be made when the long-awaited Incredibles sequel arrives in cinemas later this year, but we’re warning you now that a third film is a long way off.

In fact, it might never happen – especially if Disney alum and Incredibles 2 director Brad Bird heads into a galaxy far, far away.

In news that is both surprising and completely predictable, Incredibles 2 director – and voice of Edna Mode, fact fans – Brad Bird has revealed that he might one day join the Star Wars series.

Speaking to Fandango ahead of our next Incredibles adventure, Brad admitted that he would be more than ready to give president of Lucasfilm Kathleen Kennedy a shout if he has an idea.

“[Star Wars is] a very fun universe and if I could think of something that would be perfect for that I would give Kathy a call, absolutely,” he said.

“They’ve sort of said if I have any notion that would fit in that universe to please contact them.”

Reiterating that he “wouldn’t rule” working on a Star Wars project out, Brad conceded that he has “a lot of other ideas” that he’s “anxious” to get on with first.

So, here’s hoping one of those ideas is a Frozone spin-off movie. Are we right or are we right?

Incredibles 2 will finally hit cinemas on June 15 in the US and July 13 in the UK.
