Downton Abbey's Allen Leech announces his wife Jessica is five months pregnant

DOWNTON Abbey's Allen Leech revealed he is expecting his first child with wife Jessica Blair Herman at the premiere of the film on Monday night.

Jessica showed off her growing bump on the red carpet in London's Leicester Square and told Sun Online that she is five months pregnant.

Congratulating the couple on their happy news, Allen, 38, told us: "Thank you so much.

"She is absolutely blooming. She is five months pregnant today. I'm nervous."

The actor, who married fellow actress Jessica earlier this year, quipped: "And I hope the movie does well!"

Downton Abbey stars flocked to the Cineworld Leicester Square this evening for the world premiere of the highly-anticipated film.

Michelle Dockery led the red-carpet glamour dressed in a dazzling, floor-length gown ahead of the movie's release to the general public on Friday.

The 37-year-old actress, famed for her portrayal of Lady Mary Crawley on screen, looked every inch the star in a gold, one shoulder number teamed with hoops and wearing her raven hair in waves.

Her screen dad Hugh Bonneville, 54, revealed a new look and was barely recognisable as Downton patriarch Robert Crawley, sporting a beard.

Meanwhile his on-screen wife, US actress Elizabeth McGovern, stood out in fuchsia pink and rejoiced as she reunited with on-screen daughters Laura Carmichael and Dockery on the red carpet.

Carmichael returns to the big screen as Edith Pelham, Marchioness of Hexham.

Lady Edith had a bumpy road to her happy ending in the historical drama series, but goes on to marry Herbert Pelham to become the Marchioness of Hexham.

Elsewhere Jim Carter, who plays Downton butler Mr Carson, arrived in London's Leicester Square with wife Imelda Staunton.

Award-winning Staunton, 63, nabbed a role alongside her husband in the movie as Lady Bagshaw and shared the red carpet with fellow Downton newcomer and Peaky Blinders star Kate Phillips.
